For Renters:
What to bring on your search
- First month's rent, security deposit, application fees ($25-$50 for apartments, $150-$500 for condos and co-ops) and brokerage fee. Rent and security are due, usually as two certified checks, on the first business day following agreement.
- Letter of employment verification, on company letterhead, signed by supervisor, stating salary, guaranteed bonus, title, start date, and housing allowance, if any.
- Copy of passport, driver's license or other personal identification with photograph.
- Credit application information for everyone on the lease, with names, addresses, and telephone numbers of employers, bankers, accountants, former landlords, and guarantor, if any.
